PARMENIDES wins Houskapreis 2026
We’re proud to celebrate 1st place at the Houskapreis 2026 for “VOLTERA – Intelligent Real-Time Power Grid Analysis.”
Developed at AIT, VOLTERA demonstrates how artificial intelligence and physics-based modelling can work hand in hand to strengthen and stabilize our energy infrastructure. By analysing power grids in real time, VOLTERA enables the secure integration of renewable energy sources—making it a key building block for a sustainable, resilient energy system of the future.
The award was received by Dr. Bharath Varsh Rao together with the VOLTERA team: Tara Esterl, Marc Dünser, Clemens Korner, Mark Stefan, Sarah Reisenbauer, and Denis Vettoretti.

VOLTERA, together with EMS4HESS, has already proven its impact in practice, with successful deployment in grid-friendly energy communities within the PARMENIDES pilot projects in Gasen and Heimschuh.
A huge congratulations to the entire team driving innovation in energy systems forward!
