With the PARMENIDES project we empowering communities through real-time energy insights!💡 🔍

In Austria’s Styrian hills, the PARMENIDES project is bringing energy awareness directly to the public. A new public screen displaying a live energy dashboard will soon be installed in the town, offering residents and visitors a real-time look at how their community generates, consumes, and stores electricity.

The heart of the initiative is a battery system that stores surplus solar energy generated by photovoltaic (PV) systems installed in the region. Instead of feeding this excess energy directly into the grid, or worse, wasting it, the system stores it for later use within the local community. This helps maximize local self-consumption and reduce dependency on external power sources, all while easing pressure on the public electricity grid. This initiative is more than a technical installation; it’s a community touchpoint. With this public dashboard, PARMENIDES is turning energy data into a shared story, strengthening local engagement, encouraging sustainable behavior, and setting a new standard for transparency in energy use.
