PARMENIDES in Bridge General Assembly
The PARMENIDES project coordinator and the communication & dissemination work package leader participated in the BRIDGE General Assembly 2025, joining forces with our cluster partners FlexCHESS and InterSTORE.
This annual gathering brought together EU-funded energy projects to exchange experiences, tackle shared challenges, and identify new opportunities for collaboration in the evolving landscape of energy innovation and market integration.
Throughout the two-day event, participants explored how to accelerate the digitalisation and decarbonisation of Europe’s energy systems, with a strong focus on interoperability, data management, and real-world deployment.
Key Takeaways
🚀 Bridging innovation and market: The discussions reaffirmed that closing the “last mile” between research prototypes and commercial solutions remains a core challenge. Addressing this requires not only technical maturity but also regulatory clarity and stakeholder engagement.
💡 Funding and support: The European Commission continues to play a crucial role by offering funding instruments to bridge this gap, ensuring promising innovations can scale to real-world impact.
🌍 Learning from peers: Insights from fellow BRIDGE projects highlighted diverse strategies for building sustainable, resilient, and citizen-centric energy systems.
🤝 Collaboration and networking: The event provided a valuable platform to reconnect with familiar faces, exchange knowledge, and explore future cooperation among aligned initiatives.
⚙️ Digitalisation and AI: Technical discussions underlined the importance of the Common European Energy Data Space and the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in shaping a smarter, more integrated energy ecosystem.
📘 Strategic insights: One of the main lessons was the importance of planning market integration early, with clear frameworks for governance, intellectual property, and investment strategies.
