Heimschuh Pilot Update
As we reflect on the progress made in late 2024, a key milestone for the PARMENIDES project stands out: the on-site preparations for one of our pilots in Heimschuh. Clemens and Maria, joined by Stephan Willenig from our subcontractor Siemens, led this crucial phase of groundwork.
The primary objective of the visit was to configure the ICT network, ensuring safe and reliable operation of the system while enabling seamless remote access to all critical components. This task is fundamental to achieving a robust infrastructure that supports the innovative energy management solutions under development in PARMENIDES.
In addition to configuring the network, the team finalized the hardware setup, focusing on measurement devices integral to system monitoring and data collection. With this step completed, the project is now ready to advance to the next phase: deploying the software components.
Among the key software tools to be implemented are the EMS4HESS (developed by MAPS) and the Grid Capacity Management (GCM) system from AIT. These tools will integrate with a PECO instantiation, which will serve as the knowledge base for EMS4HESS, enabling optimized energy management for hybrid energy storage systems.
This milestone underscores the commitment of the PARMENIDES team to driving innovation in smart energy solutions. The on-site preparations and forthcoming software deployment mark significant strides toward realizing grid-friendly, efficient energy systems that align with Europe’s energy transition goals.
Stay tuned as we continue to push the boundaries of energy research and technology. The journey of transforming theoretical advancements into practical, scalable solutions is well underway!
